Resplendent Hope’s mission is to identify, partner, and support gifted indigenous leaders and local churches whose holistic ministries show the love of Christ to victims of poverty, violence, and natural disasters in the US and developing countries. Our vision is to support ministry partners who have grace-filled ministries that transform the physical, spiritual, and emotional lives of widows, orphans, and society’s victims. The heart of holistic ministry is meeting physical needs of food, clothing, and shelter before sharing the gospel; the grace of giving precedes the sharing of the message.
After meeting essential needs, we continue to support emotional needs by providing psychological training for pastors, lay leaders, and counselors who can assist with the traumatized and emotionally damaged in the context of the country’s culture.
Our work began after the Boxing Day Tsunami in Asia in December of 2004, when a group from a local church traveled to Sri Lanka to help. There they met Pastor Adrian DeVisser, whose work is dedicated to aiding the people of his country. After becoming familiar with the work, three members of the group decided to start Resplendent Hope to aid widows, orphans, and society’s victims.
Our name comes from “sri” which means “resplendent” and our desire to restore hope and dignity. From South East Asia to central Africa, we’ve established partnerships where we “hit the ground listening” so we can identify needs within the culture. At our first Resplendent Hope event, it was recognized that the world is becoming smaller; if we don’t solve the problems of those who suffer worldwide, we are destined to inherit those problems.
We hope you will consider partnering with us to help improve the lives and restore hope to the hearts of those living in poverty and crisis.
